Shopify Growth Retainer

Shopify Growth Retainer

Most stores have one good launch and then drift. A Shopify growth retainer is how you stop drifting and start compounding.

Traffic grows. The app stack gets messier. A/B tests that were "temporary" become permanent. Conversion rate moves sideways while ad spend goes up.

We partner with Shopify stores on a monthly basis: handling development work, running CRO initiatives, monitoring performance, and making sure the store is always improving rather than just maintaining.

BoltRamp is a Shopify retainer agency for stores doing serious revenue — not an app recommendation service. We only take on retainer clients where we can see clear room to improve. If there isn't a credible path to moving your numbers, we'll say so.

If you're looking for a Shopify CRO agency that implements, not just recommends — this is the service.

Who This Shopify Retainer Agency Is For

The Shopify growth retainer is built for stores doing $30K–$500K/month in revenue that are past the build phase and ready to optimize.

You're a good fit if:

  • Your store is live and generating revenue, but conversion rate or AOV isn't where it should be
  • You want ongoing development support without hiring a full-time Shopify developer
  • You're running paid ads and need the store to convert the traffic you're paying for
  • You want someone tracking performance month-over-month and acting on it, not just reporting it

You're probably not a good fit if:

  • You're still building your first store — see our Store Build service
  • You need a new store built from scratch before optimizing
  • You're looking for ad spend management — we work alongside your ads team, we don't run it

Skincare brand AOV growth
Case Study

AOV From $48 to $74 in 3 Months. Same Traffic.

Layla runs a skincare brand on Shopify. She came to us on a Growth retainer after migrating from WooCommerce. Her store was healthy but her AOV was flat at $48 — she had a product line that lent itself to bundles, but no bundle mechanic in place.

Month 1: We identified that 64% of orders were single-product. Set up a "build your routine" bundle page and added a post-purchase upsell for a complementary product.

Month 2: AOV moved to $67. We A/B tested the product page layout — specifically whether showing bundle savings before or after the individual price increased add-to-cart rate. The "before" variant won by 18%.

Month 3: We rolled out the winning variant across all product pages. Added a free-shipping threshold message visible in cart at $75 to nudge toward the new AOV target.

$74

AOV by month 3. Up from $48. Same traffic. Same ad spend. Different store.

What's Not Included

We're direct about this. The retainer does not cover:

  • Ad spend or campaign management
  • Content creation or copywriting
  • ERP integration
  • Custom app development
  • Headless or Hydrogen builds
  • Major new feature development (billed separately if needed)

If you need any of the above, we'll tell you clearly rather than absorb it into retainer hours and deliver less of everything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the retainer a contract?

There is a 3-month minimum commitment. After that, it runs month to month and you can cancel with 30 days notice. There is no long-term lock-in beyond the initial 3 months.

What if I need more than the included development hours?

Additional hours beyond the monthly allocation are available at a fixed hourly rate. We'll flag it before going over so there are no billing surprises.

Can I start without doing the audit first?

Yes. The Store Health Audit is recommended because it gives month one a clear direction rather than starting cold — but it is optional. If you know your priorities, we can onboard directly.

Do you manage ad spend?

No. We collaborate with your ads team on conversion tracking and landing page fixes, but we do not manage ad campaigns or budgets. The retainer is focused on what happens on the store — not the ad platforms.

Ready to Stop Drifting?

New retainer clients typically start with a Store Health Audit — it gives month one a clear direction. If you already know your priorities, get in touch and we'll onboard directly.
